The SCREEN Consortium is composed by 18 partners representing 17 regions belonging to 12 European Countries: their interests, need and experience form a noticeable cluster able to well represents the European needs in the field of circular economy and smart specialisation.Our Consortium
Lazio Region (Italy) has set the concept of circular economy as one of the cornerstones of its regional development policy and has already issued a call "Support to competitive re-positioning of local entrepreneurial systems" that gave very good results. It is supported in the project by its linked third party Lazio Innova - www.lazioinnova.itTuscia University (Italy) supports Lazio Region in the development of research, in promoting good practice and sharing of circular economy implementation methodologies and plays an important official role in the development of the regional smart specialisation strategies. Lombardia Region (Italy) has a Smart Specialisation Strategy thet includes Advanced Manufacturing, as one of the main specialisation areas outlined in the RIS3 plan delivered by the region to the European commission on 2014. The regional Cluster appointed to represent the research and innovation priorities in advanced Manufacturing, AFIL-Associazione Fabbrica Intelligente Lombardia, is third party in this project - www.afil.it.
The Government of Navarra (Spain) is laying the foundations to foster the transition to a circular economy. For this an inter-departmental work team has been established, involving 4 DGs (Economic and Entrepreneurial Policy and Work; Energy, Industry and Innovation; Environment and Land Use Planning; and Rural Development, Agriculture and Livestock); the Regional Development Agency- SODENA is linked third party in this project www.sodena.es
CCDRCentro (Portugal) is a regional agency of the Portuguese government with responsibilities mainly in physical planning and regional development. Therefore, CCDRCentro works in designing development proposals, monitoring public policies and managing the Regional Operational Program and the Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3). .
Lodzkie Region (Poland) represents the highest level of administrative sub-division of Poland and is responsible for creating and implementing numerous regional policies, including management of European Union funding, supporting of entrepreneurs, innovations, and SSS. Lodzkie Region is currently implementing the innovation strategy through dedicated sectoral policies designed for each sector with support of ERDF
Region of Crete (Kriti-Greece) is Public Body composed by 6 General Directorates and 36 Directorates that aim at Economic, Social and Cultural Development of the Island. It designs, plans and implements policies at regional level as part of its responsibility, in terms of the sustainable development and social cohesion of the country, taking into account National and European Policies.
Nexa is a semi-public company of the Reunion region (France) . Located in the Indian Ocean, La Reunion is one of the eight outermost European regions. Nexa is therefore interested in addressing the specific question of cross-border exchanges, which raises economic, legal and technical issues. As an example of fund synergy, we could duplicate the SCREEN project with the members of the Indian Ocean Commission, through an INTERREG project, and produce common guidelines, that may be of interest for the European Commission.
The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is a UK government funded association aiming at enabling UK industries to innovate in a faster and more successful way by helping them to access to the knowledge base in science, engineering and manufacturing and by encouraging them to develop and exploit new technologies and circular economy business models.
Limburg Province (NL) has a smart specialisation strategy that includes a cluster dealing with the bio economy. In the meantime partners in the south of the Netherlands have created an innovation program for the biobased economy. Together with partners in Flanders and North-Rhine Westphalia this initiative is taken up and called Biobased Delta Region Europe. The Province of Limbuirg has gathered industry and the regional development agency LIOF in a network called Source B.
The province of Fryslan (NL), hosts several country's leading expertise in the area of water technology and also forms the key RIS3 topic. The 150 companies in the water technology sector provide approximately 1,000 jobs and generate combined added value of 150 million Euro. Leeuwarden, the capital of Fryslan is home to WaterCampus Leeuwarden. This campus hosts Wetsus, the European Centre of excellence for sustainable water technology and Water Alliance, the Dutch cluster organization of innovative water technology SMEs.
Tampere Region (FI) is the center of Finnish industry today and a global center of intelligent machines, such as mobile machinery, machines for mining and construction and flexible manufacturing systems. In this field eight globally operating world market and technology leaders in their own market segment are located in the Tampere region. One of the main area of investments is circular economy. The planned investments reach over 50 million Euro. Tampere Region is founding member of the Vanguard Initiative and was the president of the Iniative in 2015
The Observatoire Regional des Dechets d'Ile-de-France (ORDIF) is a non-profit association founded by Ile-de-France Regional Council and the State. It has been focused on the assessment of waste prevention and waste management in the Ile-de-France region for twenty-five years with the result of being able to validate key indicators related to circular economy used to monitor regional waste strategies.
The Direccion General de Medio Ambiente of Extermadura (Spain) is a public body integrated within the Junta de Extremadura. Fully engaged in the waste management as one of its main responsabilities, the DGMA is actively involved in the implementation of circular economy model in the society by carrying out the already approved Plan Integrado de Residuos de Extremadura 2016-2022 (PIREX) and through its commitment in the future Estrategia de Economia Verde Ciudadana Extremadura 2030.
TheDepartment of Economy, Science and Innovation (EWI) of the Flemish Government is entrusted with the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of policies related to its area of interest, in a interplay of economy, science and innovation which should bring to a long-term strategy of sustainable growth. The EWI set the transition to circular economy as one of the seven priorities of Flanders' long-term strategy "Vision 50".
The Regional Fund for Science and Technology (FRCT) is an agency of the Azores Regional Government with the objective of promoting a more effective participation in European programmes and projects of regional actors involved in Research and Innovation. In this perspective, FRCT actively supports the Regional Science and Technology Directorate (DRCT) to participate in R&I European projects, especially in projects related to the implementation of the Regional Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization (RIS3).
The Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (PGKC) is a county in western Croatia responsible for a wide array of regional issues and for promotion, coordination and monitoring of projects related to sustainable development, environmental protection and waste management at local level. It has gained a deep and large experience and competence in creating and implementing EU projects referring to different programmes.
The North-East RDA (North-East Regional Development Agency) is a non-profit making legal entity of public utility concerning regional economic and social development in Romania. The Agency was the Intermediate Body responsible for the implementation of the Regional Operational Program 2007-2013 and for the Competitiveness Sectorial Program in the North-East Region, implementing a huge number of projects.
